Lavender Earl Gray French Toast

Sunday brunch just got an upgrade! This Lavender Earl Grey French Toast is infused with the citrusy notes of our signature tea for a fresh twist on a classic. Soft, buttery brioche soaks up a tea-infused custard, giving it just the right hint of depth in every bite. Cooked until golden and topped with powdered sugar, maple syrup, and fresh berries…it’s the kind of breakfast you’ll want on repeat.

INGREDIENTS

4 slices of brioche or challah bread

2 eggs

½ cup milk (or dairy-free alternative)

2 tbsp Treasured Roots Lavender Earl Grey Tea (brewed strong and cooled)

1 tbsp honey

½ tsp vanilla extract

¼ tsp cinnamon (optional)

Pinch of salt

Butter or oil for cooking

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Brew the tea. Steep 1 tsp of Treasured Roots Lavender Earl Grey Tea in ¼ cup hot water for 5 minutes, then strain and let cool.

  2. Whisk the batter. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, cooled tea, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.

  3. Soak the bread. Dip each slice of brioche in the mixture, letting it soak for 10-15 seconds per side.

  4. Cook. Heat butter in a pan over medium heat. Cook each slice for about 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.

  5. Serve. Top with powdered sugar, berries, whipped cream, and/or drizzle of maple syrup.
